ABOUT OKAYAMA
Okayama Prefecture is located in the southern area of Japan's main island. It is famous for being the "land of sunshine" with the characteristics of having less rain and cloudy days compared to other areas of Japan. It also shares mild climate with very few natural disasters and delicious dishes of natural ingredients. Okayama is the entrance to the Utsumi Sea, also the birthplace of the Momotaro legend. The Kurashiki historical district is home to one of Japan's famous tourist attractions. Most of Okayama still retains the Japanese rural scenery, rich in fruits and seafood, and numerous well-known art museums. It can be said that Okayama is the best place for enjoy and appreciate the Japanese countryside.
Korakuen is famous for being one of "The three great gardens" in Japan. It is full of fascinating charm, such as historic buildings and beautiful scenery changing with the four seasons. Because of its high artistic value, Korakuen is designated as a special cultural heritage.
